Περίληψη
Ο Μαξ Φίσερ είναι ο χειρότερος μαθητής του σχολείου, αλλά απ`ό,τι φαίνεται έχει πολλά ταλέντα, καθώς καταφέρνει να είναι την ίδια στιγμή: συντάκτης της σχολικής εφημερίδας, πρόεδρος της γαλλικής και γερμανικής λέσχης, της σκακιστικής λέσχης, της λέσχης της αστρονομίας, αρχηγός της ομάδας ξιφασκίας και σκηνοθέτης μιας θεατρικής ομάδας, την οποία έχει δημιουργήσει ο ίδιος. Μέσα σε όλα αυτά, ο Μαξ σχεδιάζει να δημιουργήσει ένα ενυδρείο για να κατακτήσει τη γυναίκα που αγαπά, έχοντας ως βοηθό τον πλούσιο φίλο του, Χέρμαν Μπλουμ. Τα πράγματα όμως δεν πηγαίνουν όπως τα είχε σχεδιάσει, καθώς ο Χέρμαν φαίνεται να ερωτεύεται κι αυτός την ίδια γυναίκα.
